Michigan’s weather can swing wildly — blazing hot in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter — and all that back-and-forth puts a lot of strain on your heating and cooling systems. That’s why it’s important to act quickly when something doesn’t seem right. Catching a small problem early can save you from costly repairs or even a full system replacement later on.
Here are some common warning signs that your system might need attention:
If some of the rooms in your home or commercial space feel warmer or cooler than others, your system may be struggling with airflow, duct leaks, or a malfunctioning thermostat.
Weak or uneven airflow often points to an underlying issue—like a dirty filter, blocked ductwork, or a failing blower motor.
Rattling, buzzing, or banging sounds may indicate loose parts, compressor problems, or other issues with your HVAC system.
If your system keeps cycling on and off, it could be overheating, the unit might not be the right size for your space, or there may be a problem with the thermostat.
An unexplained spike in your heating or cooling costs may suggest your HVAC system is running inefficiently due to dirty coils, failing components, or refrigerant issues.
If you notice burning, musty, or chemical smells coming from your vents, it could point to electrical problems, mold growth, or even a refrigerant leak.
If your system doesn’t respond properly to temperature changes or runs constantly, your thermostat or control wiring may be to blame.
When the air in your home or business feels too damp or overly dry, it’s usually a sign that your HVAC system isn’t keeping humidity levels where they should be.
Moisture around your indoor unit can be caused by either a blocked condensate drain or a refrigerant leak.
If your furnace or air conditioner is more than 10 to 15 years old, it’s likely running less efficiently, breaking down more often, and costing more to operate.
Most importantly, always be sure to trust your instincts. If your system just doesn’t seem to be working like it used to, or something feels off, it’s worth scheduling a service call.
Contact Dynamic HVAC today to have the heating and cooling services you need.
It’s easy enough to find a company willing to handle your heating and cooling needs. The hard part is finding one you can genuinely trust. Unfortunately, plenty of HVAC companies out there cut corners or take advantage of customers just to make a quick profit.
Dynamic HVAC does things differently. Since the 1970s, we’ve been delivering the kind of service Oxford homeowners and property managers expect — and deserve. To continue earning our reputation as Southeast Michigan’s top HVAC company, we stay focused on a few core priorities:
Unlike some unscrupulous HVAC companies who cut corners and flout important regulations, we maintain both the state and federal licenses required to legally perform heating and cooling services.
Unfortunately, many HVAC service providers make a habit of adding surprise fees to their customers’ invoices, but that’s not how we do things. Dynamic HVAC always provides crystal-clear estimates with no hidden “gotcha” fees.
We are proud to be based in Oxford, Michigan, and we believe our customers take comfort in working with an HVAC service that has local roots. We also support local initiatives and provide discounts for teachers, churches, veterans, and first responders.
We’re proud of the heating and cooling services we deliver, and your satisfaction is always our top priority. That’s why every service we provide comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
It can be frustrating trying to work with a huge national HVAC company. Sometimes you end up talking to someone in a completely different state just to schedule a simple service call. Dynamic HVAC is different. We’re a small, family-owned business that takes the time to understand your needs and deliver the right solutions for you.
We provide an array of heating and cooling repair and installation services for residents and property managers in Oxford, and the rest of Southeast Michigan. Some of the cities and towns we serve include:
Still have questions about heating and cooling system repairs? We’ve rounded up some of the most common questions our customers have below!
Most HVAC systems last between 15 and 25 years. Regular maintenance can sometimes extend that lifespan, while neglecting routine service can cause the system to wear out sooner.
Loud banging or whistling usually means your system is struggling to “breathe” or has a mechanical part wearing down. In Oxford, our furnaces run for long stretches during sub-zero nights, which puts a lot of stress on the blower motor. We provide quick diagnostic visits to catch these small sounds before they turn into a total heating failure in the middle of January.
The best approach is a properly sized central air system that is calibrated for our local humidity. If your AC feels like it’s running constantly but the house is still “sticky,” we can adjust your system’s airflow to ensure it is effectively removing moisture from the air while it cools, keeping you comfortable even on the muggiest afternoons.
We believe in transparent, upfront pricing based on a physical inspection of your equipment. We don’t use “one-size-fits-all” numbers; instead, we look at the specific age and condition of your system. We provide a tiered range of investment options—from simple, budget-friendly repairs to premium high-efficiency installs—so you can choose the path that best fits your household budget.
We suggest scheduling your AC tune-up in the spring and your furnace inspection in the early fall. By staying ahead of the seasons in Oxford, you ensure your system is ready for the first heatwave or the first frost, helping you avoid the “emergency rush” when everyone else’s system breaks down at the same time.
Replacing your furnace or air conditioner can put a pretty good dent in your household budget. So, when you catch
A new furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump can take a pretty good bite out of your home improvement budget.
Replacing your home’s heating setup isn’t something you do very often. When the time finally comes, you might find yourself

Quick response to request for service. Prompt, professional and efficient service and repaired A/C that was not functioning - in less than 30 minutes. David Webb was knowledgeable and able to identify the problem in minutes and had replacement parts to repair the unit. Six Stars would be appropriate.Posted on Google![]()

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an outstanding experience with my HVAC technician, James S. today. He installed my new furnace and smart thermostat and did an exceptional job from start to finish. He was extremely professional, thorough, courteous, and patient throughout the entire installation. He took the time to explain everything I needed to know about my new furnace, walked me through the features and operation of the smart thermostat, and made sure all of my questions were answered before he left. I especially appreciated his attention to detail and his willingness to make sure I was completely comfortable with the new equipment. It’s refreshing to work with someone who clearly takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about providing excellent customer service. I couldn’t be more pleased with the installation and would highly recommend him to anyone needing HVAC service. Five stars and a job very well done!Posted on Google![]()
